WOVEN-TO-SIZE SHADES
In this time-honored, one-of-one method, Hartmann & Forbes’ artisans hand weave each shade on traditional wooden looms to a window’s dimensions. This painstaking technique comes with a longer lead time but delivers an exquisite loom-finished edge on shades up to 180” wide, without seams. Each shade is then hand finished to the most exacting standards, with the highest-quality components, in their Pacific Northwest facility.
NATURAL FIBERS
Hartmann & Forbes begins the process of creating luxury woven products by choosing only the finest sustainable fibers, each rapidly-renewable and grown in well-managed ecosystems. Every strand is hand selected for subtle variations of color and texture.
NATURAL WALL COVERINGS
The presence of light and shade on a wall should always enhance your natural surroundings. Hartmann & Forbes’ collection of authentic grasscloth surface materials is created from rapidly-renewable fibers such as abaca, sisal, ramie and jute. Each textile is woven and finished by hand before being carefully backed and trimmed.
